After losing my father at a young age, I learned how deeply photographs can hold meaning. They freeze a feeling, a memory, a season of life — and that’s what I want to give to others.
My approach is relaxed, natural, and honest. I work with soft light, earthy tones, and a documentary style to capture images that feel like you — messy hair, big laughs, bare feet, and all.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me outside exploring, staying active, or curled up with a good book. I’m all about slow moments and meaningful connection — and that’s exactly what I bring to every session.

Why Rooted Oak?
Those who have been here from the beginning may know me as Caitlin Ann Photography. Although that’s my name, I felt it didn’t fully represent the brand I wanted to create. So—why Rooted Oak?
I chose the name Rooted Oak Photography because I wanted it to hold meaning beyond simply taking pictures. The oak tree represents strength, growth, and endurance—qualities that mirror the beauty of everyday life. “Rooted” speaks to connection: to people, to moments, and to the stories we carry with us.
For me, lifestyle photography is about preserving the real and in-between moments that feel like home—the ones that ground us. Whether it’s the kind of laughter that happens without thought, the golden light spilling across a kitchen table, or the small way a child instinctively reaches for their parent’s hand, my goal is to capture the stories that matter most.This name reminds me to stay rooted in purpose—creating images that are timeless, genuine, and full of life.
